THE EASTER STORY TOLD THROUGH THE EYES OF A MOTHER, A GOVERNOR, A THIEF, A SOLDIER AND A FRIEND.
31 MARCH (Mother’s Day) 10:00 – The Cross through the eyes of a Mother
On mothering Sunday we will celebrate the wonderful women in our life, hear some stories of miraculous breakthrough and look at one Mother in particular. Is Jesus a King? If so, what sort of King?
Pilate was the Governor, yet he failed to take responsibility – he literally washes his hands of Jesus.
14 APRIL 10:00 – Through the eyes of two thieves
Why were these men being executed? Why does one of them mock Jesus and the other beg for mercy? Here we look at how and why Jesus responds to them.
19 APRIL (Good Friday) 18:00 – The cross through soldier’s eyes
The soldiers are full of scorn. They nail Him to the cross, cast, divide up his clothes and roll the dice to see who gets what. By contrast a senior officer announces as Jesus dies “This man was the Son of God?” How do we respond to Jesus as He hangs on a cross on Good Friday?
